Towanda District Library is pleased to share record-breaking statistics from our most recent Summer Reading Program: 107 total participants (73 youth, 9 teens, and 25 adults) registered, which reflected a 14% increase from 2017. Most notably, the average youth participant read for approximately 7 hours and 22 minutes—a 302% increase from 2017! In total, youth readers recorded 538.5 hours of reading, in comparison to the 147.5 hours reported in 2017. 92% of youth registrants completed at least one Reading Log, which reflected a 22% increase from 2017. Towanda District Library offered 17 programs throughout the summer of 2018, made possible by 23 generous sponsors. We are excited and encouraged by the “spirit of reading” sweeping through the Towanda community!
